Who We Are
Partnering Researcher: Dr. Sara Perry
Dr. Sara Perry is an Assistant Professor of Management at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Prior to joining Baylor, she was an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Houston - Downtown College of Business. She has also held positions at SIS Technologies and Sun Microsystems as a systems engineer.
Dr. Perry earned her PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from University of Houston. Her current research is primarily focused on employee stress and well-being, including examining the effects of leadership and non-traditional work assignments on these dynamics.
Dr. Perry is an active member of the Academy of Management, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Southern Management Association.
Lead Researcher: Dr. Emily David
Dr. Emily David is an Assistant Professor of Management at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). Prior to joining CEIBS, she was an Associate Professor of Management in the College of Business at Zayed University in Dubai, U.A.E. where she served as the Discipline Leader for the HR and Management faculty.
Dr. David earned her PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from University of Houston. Her current research primarily focuses on discovering how to make workplaces more welcoming for people of all background and personality profiles in order to achieve better person-organization fit, maximize performance, and avoid employee burnout.
Dr. David is an active member of the Academy of Management, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and the Southern Management Association. She has also worked as an in-house researcher at both NASA (Wyle Laboratories) and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in addition to consulting for myriad organizations including the City of Houston, Kuaray, Saudi ARAMCO, and Exxon Mobil.
Partnering Researcher: Dr. Lars U. Johnson
Dr. Lars U. Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Management at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to joining Wayne State, he worked in the North Texas area as a public school teacher, trainer, and department chair for several years.
Dr. Johnson earned his PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from University of Houston, and a M.Ed. in Educational Administration at Lamar University. His research primarily focuses on leadership, climate, and culture, individual differences (e.g., personality), performance, well-being, safety, decision-making, diversity/EEO issues, and human resources.
